About Us

Who we are

Peyton's Pals, Inc. is an all volunteer based non profit organization. We all share the same mission, to find a cure/better treatment options for Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA).

-Our Mission, is to educate the community and to raise funds in support of research efforts currently underway to find a cure for Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA).

Peyton Williams is currently a year old.  She's been diagnosed with a very rare blood disorder called Diamond Blackfan Anemia (DBA). DBA is a very rare blood disorder, characterized by a failure of the bone marrow (the center of the bone where blood cells are made) to produce red blood cells. This failure causes DBA patients, like her, to become severely anemic.

According to the DBA registry, DBA affects approximately five in a million or .0005% of infants world wide (700 cases). Most patients survive on monthly blood transfusions, and some respond to steroid therapy to stimulate red blood cell production. There is currently NO cure for DBA. Since its so rare funding for research is hard to come by, that's why your support of Peyton's Pals is so important.
